Hi, I am getting some work done with an indian company but I am getting charged a 10% "Transaction fee" because I am paying by credit card.

I think that this is too high, can someone please indicate what I should be paying?

    Thanks
    Markus

Are they processing the payments themselves or are you sending them through a website? 10% does seem a little high, particularly if your paying thousands for the job.

Are you making payments in Indian Rupees? Who is charging you? Your CC company or the outsourcing company?

Credit cards always charge a transaction fee if they transaction is in a foreign currency.

For example when I make USD payments from my credit card (INR denominated), I am charged 3.5% transaction fees.

10% still seems to be on the higher side.

If you are paying big sums (>500$) it will be better to pay using bank wire transfer. Usually banks charge no more than $20-30 for wire transfer.

    Hi Markus,

If you are paying good sum you can pay via Wire & Paypal or if they agree you can pay via egold.

What you want to be done as outsourcing ? Why u want to add 10% transaction charge ? I think none of the CC processing sites charge that much .
