Indian debit card through paypal - YES!!

To all paypal users in India,

I called up the customer care agent and requested a name change, which was successful.

Another thing I asked him about was verification of account through indian debit card.

I asked him if I can verify my account using debit card, I'm from India.

The agent said "YES" its possible.

I asked him twice and he confirmed it - "YES".

Anyone tried it yet? I'm going to try it with my axis bank.

Will let you people know about it soon.

There is no harm in making one more attempt at verifying with Indian Debit Card, but there are now several instances which have not been successful!

Perhaps, the customer care agent you encountered, was a duffer...as always

Well it will be really great if debit card having visa logo started to work with paypal but as per my previous experiences, we cannot add debit cards which have written statement on it "ELECTRONIC USE ONLY"

If this line is not mentioned on ur debit card, you can add it to ur paypal easily Right somebank are offering maestro card which does not have this line mentioned and its working with paypal also.

 

i used my debit card and my account is verified. i guess it depends upon the bank in which you hold the card. they don accept all

 

What bank card you used to verify your paypal? I have tried with HDFC and ICICI but with no luck

 

Now almost all bank is providing "International Debit card" earlier it was not possible as it has no PIN code at it back of card. International Debit card are are accepting at Paypal.

 

I dont know wether my AXIS bank debit card will work in paypal or not ???? I will try one day for sure

 

I tried it using my icici bank debit card but even though it has a security code at the back...i got a message from paypal saying that the bank has denied request. What i would like to know is whether icici debit/atm card works?

 

PNB's new Debit card works. It was posted by some of us in another thread in same section. Do check.

@magicworld..yes it has "Electronic Use Only" written on it..i read that it means i cannot use the card Also read that we can use PNB debit card to verify the account...have two questions..first..will the credit/debit card bank and the bank to where you will withdraw the funds have to be the same? for example, can i add a card from PNB and still withdraw the money to icici? And second will i be getting the debit card as soon as i open the account in PNB? Thinking of opening an account there just to get that debit card coz a number of my domains are expiring in the next few months and godaddy is asking me to renew the card with pp if i want to renew my domains

Anybody used SBI debit card to verify paypal??

I have an SBI debit card of Maestro but no PIN code on the back. Can I use it for verification??

 

then, you cant use sbi debit card, because paypal ask the pin code at the back, so you cant get it

 

which banks Credit card have u used?

 

My card says "Electronic use only" but I called up paypal again. They ask me to check with the bank. They say it can be used for verification and that only the banks can help us do it.

 

1. I have Axis Bank International Debit card but it's not working! (VISA)
2. Have ICICI bank Debit card (Mastro) not working.

They all say electronic use only. But I was able to use my Axis Bank debit card at a number of other sites for payment.

 

Master and VISA debit card (also called international debit card) are accepted by paypal. You cannot use mastro debit card to verify paypal account.

 

i used visa international debit card from hdfc. but it didnt work.
