I still dont know why they dropped Chopra all that time ago. Him and Sehwag made the perfect opening combo. One was a attacking player, while the other would rotate the strike. Unlike Jaffer and RD who eat up balls and dont score.

ah, it was quite amusing reading some comments... how people(Indian) at first were supremely confident & now are losing hope fast !!

to be honest, i thought maybe this Indian team would be able to break this amazing run of Aussie Victories..but, that was not to be .
more than anything else, i believe this victory was handed to the Aussies on a platter!!
after having such a fabulous start on the first day of the test, by restricting Aussies.... they just gave the initiative away !!!!

when the Aussies are down you`ve gotta hit them hard... what was truly mind-boggling was the way, the Indian openers batted .... i mean what were they trying to do??

they were batting as if they were batting to save the test while, the need of the hour was to take the attack to the opposition.

you dont need Sehwag to bat positively... i`m afraid to say that the intent to score was missing from both the indian openers & you just cant afford to give this kind`a start to the Aussies as they start sniffing blood & then its almost impossible to stop them.

first & foremost... after taking Sehwag Down Under, they should have had stuck with him.... nonetheless, the indian openers could still have tried to rotate the strike... it was looking as if they`re school-boys !!!!!

so, to sum it up.... all the blame for losing the Ist Test Match should go to the Indian Openers as, they failed to score when it was the best time to score i.e, with the new ball !!
later on the ball started reverse swinging too, which made matters worse !!!!

one thing is for sure though that if India continue to play this school-cricket(not even at par with the club level)... then they`re gonna be whitewashed, you can be rest assured of that !!!!

15th consecutive test win for the Aussies.

Well done guys, and off to the SCG for the next game.

Will Yuvraj Singh retain his spot for the next game ? With zilch and five to show for his efforts, it might make sense to bring in Sehwag, and allow Dravid to drop down the order.

Yeah, great win by Australians as usual :( Indians have a lot of hope on the second match at Sydney. Last time our batsmen scored more than 700 runs in the first innings, thanks to the efforts of the little master :) They had to win the match to be live in the series, coz the pitch at Perth is a like hell to Indian batsmen  Australians got amazing fast bowlers like Tait and Lee, so it will be very easy for them to win the match in Perth :D

That was in Kolkata, and the Aussies are playing in conditions that they know the best.

Can they make it 16 in Sydney and 17 later on ? Given the way they are playing, they surely can. If India continue to play strokes like they did in their second innings, they will be gifting the Aussies the series on a platter.

I wish someone would stop their winning ways it is getting a little tedious watching them winning all the time roll on the next ashes series in England.

India has good chance to win the series...buy senior player is not performing up to mark. Only Schin shows some good batting and fighting with Ausies...hope all will support to Kumble and will repeat history again..best of luck to Indian team

Well I also think samething and I hope India do atleast 1-1 in next match to drew sereis. Now only 1 days to go for big match and I am sure India do well in second test.

Some reporters reports that Sehwag may be include in the team for Jaffar. Let's see what team we have in tomorrrow's match.

Sad thing was that the Aussies didn't bowl extraordinary, unplayable deliveries. It was our batsmen who were at fault and played wrong shots.
    Pitch wasn't too bad either.

Even more tragic thing is that the younger players...Yuvi, Dhoni and Jaffer have failed miserably in both innigs....what will be the future of this team.....soch ke darr lagta hai.

I think India can play with 1 spinner and 3 Fast Bowlers (Zaheer, RP or SreeSanth or the New Guy, Pathan ) Pathan can bat as well so thats an advantage :) . Also India shld play Sehwag in the next match maybe drop someone.

Hope the New Year brings some life in Team India :D

It's not good news for us. Ganguly is inform batsmen and doing well in last few matches. Dravid looks out of form and I think India should put him at no.3 so he get confidance.
