    Who is M.Vijay?..Never heard anything about him...Is he from the south?

    I certainly hope that the Chief Selector Mr. Srikkanth is not playing regional politics..:eek:

    Yes he is from South India ( Tamilnadu). I just want to tell that if player can play big innings and stay for long time on pitch then why he is not in team. He had all records but he is not even possible team.

    Regional politics??? :eek:
    Very obvious reaction if people start to come from south.

    People of south are those who were badly hit by the regional politics if you go back .

    Badrinath should have been selected instead of Rohit Sharma.

    In fact Rohit Sharma is not in Test team.:D

    Well we means not from South or west or east or north but we are talking about performance only and no doubt that Pujara had a great season but bad luck as he is not in the team despite of have 3 times more then 300 runs in innings.

    Well I also want to see that India will win the series as we yet to win in New Zealand since 1967. So this could be big series win for Dhoni.

    I hope India will win all the serieses of the formats. But, I doubt Dhoni is again going to lose his cool in the field in the tour. Just think about the last oneday match between Ind vs. Sri Lanka and the twenty20 match until the pathans fired. I thought the Honeymoon was over for Dhoni.

    But, probably it is waiting for him in New Zealand. Also, what the heck is he thinking these days? Just because you are a captain of a team do you have to bat like a test player, Mature Batting? Either he would fire in New Zealand just like he used to or he would secure a place for himself beside Ganguly and Dravid.

    I am sorry if I touched a wrong nerve of yours....but then...two wrongs do not make one right....People from east,west and north had indulged in them badly in the past, but present team had exception since people were now being selected strictly on performance, and hence just wondering if evils of the past is again back or what!!

    Just read in today's newspaper that Captain wanted Parthiv Patel as second wicketkeeper but selectors picked up Tamilnadu's Dinesh Karthik... This kind of regionalism is what hurts me...:(
    An Indian is an Indian..Just pick whoever is the fittest for the job...

    Yes and we seen performance in Duleep Trophy from Parthiv Patel who helps to win West Zones but still couln't find place in team although it not hurts too much since Dhoni is there less chances for him but Pujara is doing excellent since 2 season and still not in team atleast he should be in 15. Why they pick up Dravid again and again? He failed in Duleep Trophy too.

    Yeah.. In the past there was an issue.But now i don't see that happening.

    I will give a different perspective of this specific case that you have mentioned.

    Captain -> Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
    He recommends -> Parthiv Patel.
    The management decides -> Dinesh karthik.

    Now,

    Captain of Chennai super kings (IPL) -> Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
    He recommends -> Parthiv Patel. ( Wicket Keeper -IPL - Chennai Super Kings)
    The management decides -> Dinesh karthik.

    Look at the whole thing in this perspective.

    Looks a bit far fetched... hmm. may be not. :)

    Sachin Tendulkar, who has toured New Zealand six times, has said the toughest task for India will be to adjust to the harsh local conditions. Tendulkar was confident that the seniors in the squad would help the younger players adjust, but he has ruled himself out of contention for the two Twenty20 internationals in New Zealand.

    "It is a fairly new team and the challenge is definitely there. Playing in New Zealand, where the conditions are going to be tough, is a completely different experience," Tendulkar said in Mumbai.

    Tendulkar said the wind plays an important role in venues like Wellington and one has to be wary of the changing conditions. "In places like Wellington from one end a bowler comes at 135kph with the breeze behind him and then suddenly you are facing someone else who is very slow and there is no wind. With the wind behind the bowler it affects the batsman as he can't keep his eyes open long. So it becomes tough as one needs to change the bat swing, balance and the rest."

    Well atleast good for us that this time Bond is not in the team who damaged last time when we traveled. I only watch Test series as it's more important for me and I wish India will win test series after 1967.
