I have started a couple of blogs and am in the process of hosting a new site. Since I am from India do I need to wait for 6 months before applying for Adsense approval?

6 months period is only to make the site older, so that it'll get enough traffic.
It also stops the people who start a blog, add the Adsense code, go for click exchange and earn some quick bucks.
This 6 months restriction is for getting approval for new Adsense account, I'm not sure about using the same pub-id for the new site.

I don't actually have a pub-id. This will be my first attempt at this stuff. Could anybody pls tell how much traffic would make Google happy and in the meanwhile which adv sites (clicksor/adbrite) should I use for maximum output?

Then you have to wait for 6 months,
    No other way,
Try Adbrite and Bidvertiser, there are lots of alternatives out there.
I think clicksor has some restrictions on minimum traffic.

Yes you do. Some people think it takes six months to get your site approved but it isn't true. Your website should be six months or older.

In the beginning I didn't have a website of this age, so I contacted some friends and asked if I could use their websites who didn't have any advertisements online yet - but even when it does, you could sign up, just ask if he / she can remove them for a few days ;)

So it's a possible solution for you :D

I don't think you have to wait 6 months. If you set up a blog with blogger.com (Google's blogs) they come with gadgets you can add immediately and these include adsense. I've put adsense on new blogs and can't think I'd be able to if this was not allowed

Ive was approved despite my blog being less than six months old. Google are getting strict with their rules though, so make sure your site has decent content and good traffic.

In india google is strict in opening new adsense accounts so you have to wait 6 months for sending the request to google.
