Phone User 'Killed By His Exploding Mobile' A man has been killed in India after the mobile phone he was using exploded, according to reports. The phone that exploded was believed to be a Nokia 1209 The victim, named as 23-year-old Gopal Gujjar, suffered serious injuries to his right ear, neck and shoulders. There were no witnesses to the incident - but it was assumed he was talking on his Nokia when the blast happened in the northern state of Rajasthan. His body was found along with the remains of the phone and battery near his farm in Banda village, Kota, reported the Times of India. Police believe he was killed by the device after discovering pieces of the Nokia 1209 handset, a basic model released in August 2008, scattered nearby.

Not only Nokia! It can be any mobile. As these are just machines. and can make you in any trouble anytime.
I have come across news about mobile phones (cheaper versions primarily made in China and Korea) exploding while talking when they are plugged in to charge. As a general rule, irrespective of the brand one shouldn't talk using a mobile when there is lightning and thunderstorm.
Its really a sad news.To protect from the mobile explode,don't put the phone immediate to the ear after being calling someone because at that time the mobile radiation is very powerful.
Its not the first time that Nokia set is exploded, it has happened before as well. Yea, use bluetooth!!!
He was talking on his cell when it was on charge directly connected to an electricity circuit, and there was rain too and lighting is the main cause for blast. Any company mobile can blast in such conditions.
does anyone know why did the mobile exploded ? there are no explosions inside a mobile phone. just silicon and plastics. did nokia use C4 instead of silicon ? lol
