The check I dropped at SBI was a rupee check. Strangely, they cleared a dollar check in 3 days but it took them 38 days to clear this one.

Hope I get my other check cleared today. Waiting for the SMS.

    Hi,

Only 3 days for $$ check and 38 for INR chq !!
Seems that those guys misplaced ur INR chq otherwise they must have cleared in couple of days if not in 1 day..

Does ur chq show up under "Chq in clearance" in ur ICICI account?

    Anyways all the best..

    Regards,

No SMS till now! I rang the ICICI number and enquired about the status of the check and he said it takes upto 25 days to clear the check.

Same SBI crap in ICICI too. Makes me sick!

ICICI bank personnel are idiots as far as I'm concerned. I've been waiting for over 6 months trying to get them to enable online transaction facility on my corporate account. The last time I was in India and looked into the matter, I was locked out of my online banking completely!

If you are ready to spend a Rs.100 more any bank can give u cash immediately by a process called discounting.

    Hi,
Nice to see friends sharing their experiene and views..

Coming to charges... Nationalised banks like SBI,etc charge LESS when compared to Private sectors banks. But QoS(Quality of service) is the main concern.

it's a rupee check. But even then they are taking time!

The nearest citibank branch in 3 hours away by train. But what makes them delay it this long? I called them and the guy said it takes 25 days maximum!

    They cleared the check today!
At least they are many many
    times better than SBI.

SBI took 38 days! LOL. ICICI
took 7 week. ICICI is many times
better. I will stick with ICICI bank.
