The Tagore issue was not anyting in favor or against. I said it to point out that there are many simple things thy cannot pronounce. Also they cannot pronounce Bhagat Singh. They say Bagat.
Maybe they pronounce is as come. Also then .com is also .come He He. And you are speaking of us being general. Whatever they speak I think the spelling com points to kom more than come. I see lots of others viewing this thread. Will you remain silent or have your own share of comments?

See buddy.. All what you are referring to are 'proper nouns' and they could be pronounced more correctly only by those people in whose language they are named. Tell me whether you can pronounce any South Indian/North-east/Rajasthani name the way they pronounce it and I will take back all I have said... I am saying that not only them but even WE can't pronounce their names correctly or OUR names from all cultures. There's no point arguing over it. I am speaking because you commented to my points. I will give you other examples:- Let say the sentence is "Tum idhar aao" They will say- "Thum idar aao" is this also a proper noun?
And they lived India for so long. Do they have no adaptation power? Indian living in US for so long has a similar accent to US. Why cannot they have it?

No I am not sure I will pronounce it rightly. But it does not mean that if I cannot pronounce it, I am bad in English. Remember English is taught all over India and Marathi is not. So, Indian can speak English and as I said our accents may be different but our pronounciation is lot proper and does justice to spelling at least in computer. But you asked me to give other examples. When I gave why have you shut up. And I have not heard Marathi even once. But the Brits heard Hindi all the time they were here. Thats the difference. I am a bengali but can speak hindi as I have heard it in movies. Though I don't know all the meanings I have to say as I have seen it only in movies. If you give hindi lines I can try.
And you cannot express every sound in English script. Write that line in hindi or bengali. I will surely pronounce it.
I said IF ...I'm not the ruler of US to say something and it will happen... They are smart companies and they don't let feeling stand in business...that's why they won't pull out... See? That's the problem with these kind of governments ...suddenly they impose bans ...do you have an idea what happens if US will impose bans to your country ? I talked to people in Texas, in West Virginia (friends were telling me "man, you need to learn another english when you go to West Virginia or Texas or Alabama") and in other parts of America and they didn't speak the english I learnt in the school...but I could easily understand what they are saying... Yes, i do have an accent...but I'm easily understood (you cannot tell by listening my accent from what part of the world I'm coming from...). Well, you try to learn my mother's language...and it will be chinese for you as it it for many foreigners...like indian is chinese for me... I know your second language is english (besides so many local languages your people speaks)...because of British occupation. Actually, there no indian language ...those languages have their names...farsi, urdu and such... I tried to learn some words from a pakistani friend...and believe me or not I wasn't doing bad... I didn't say that...so talk to who said it...

I think media is doing these kind fo things doesn't matter the place...the same is with my country: media say my country's economy grows like 8010%/year...yet the common people don't feel it...yet ... You also have rockets and satellites...did this improved the life quality of common people?...I hardly believe so... If every year 100,000 people are getting out of the universities does that make them 100,000 geniuses ? Exactly that's what is happening now with India and China...their population increased very much in short time and thus the demands...and if you are not prepared to fullfil the demands what happens? I don't know about indians being creative because I don't know any indians personally...I do know that I tried to work with them and the work ethics just made me reconsider working with somebody else...I hired people to some something and they did something else of what I was expected (even if they had the requirements in their hands). I had to explain them many times what I was expecting...Some of them just didn't do anything althought they said repeatedly they'll do it... And I;m not the only one who went thru this ... India is no Cuba. And by the way everyone knows how much US helps. We will well do without US. I said 10 cents counting all the costs. Water has no cost and 10 gms sugar costs 1 cent here. By international standards I mean that they were using excess pesticides. And at that time the price fell to one third and coa cola and pepsi were BEGGING to the Govt to let them sell. And I have seen some India companies making exact colas. So, its no secret. They don't sell because of pepsi and coke brand value. If they go away Indian companies will sell. And you cannot say our English is bad for one instance. I agree the accent is differenr byt tell be fairly one thing. Our accent is does more justice to the spelling, doesn't it? You should brush up your knowledge about Indian languages. Though I agree there is nothing called Indian language but farsi and urdu are mainly Pakistani not Indian. People all over the world speak English in different tones and accents,So it's not our fault,you said you can't understand what an Indian is speaking and it's also vice versa (Sometimes we can't also understand what Americans are speaking!) It's all because of demand.Indian Middle class is purchasing more cars every year.So inorder to increase their profits they have set up shops, here they won't pull out! Microsoft,Google have development centres here why? Most India homes use Microsoft Windows rather than Linux or other OS and 10 years before we rarely heard of PC's but now each and every one is having a PC at home ,Most of them use Windows , So they have a development centre here to also develop applications that suit our needs.India is developing market for concerns all around the world and for them they represent a huge potential that remains untapped... They won't pull out Indian economy is most internal driven one we do n't depend upon others except those so called IT people who are working in IT ,BPO's and other IT enabled services...(They constitute just 0.1-0.2% of our population) So if even if IT is affected it will have smaller impact on India as a whole... How was Google 8 years ago?How it displaced Microsoft and Yahoo? We do n't need a Google or Yahoo Who knows Even I may create a a new SE which may be a competitor to Google/Yahoo in a years time...
