India Based Server Hosting Wanted

    I want to host a site on a web server that must be based in India. Any recommendations / offers would be appreciated.

    This is a list of major Indian hosting providers. I agree that many of them may have US based servers, especially since they may also be targetting international customers.

    Colocation and especially bandwidth in india is very very costly compared to US rates.

    Also, there are very few world class datacenters in India : VSNL, Reliance and Sify. Most corporate houses in India colocate their servers here. Hence there is a dearth of shared/VPS/dedicated servers based in India.

    I agree, It is frightful. I checked out net4domains, which is probably what I will go with unless I get a better suggestion here.

    Almost no servers are India based ...becoz there is not high BW in India..

    you are probably looking for Indian company becoz of support in think.

    I am looking for servers physically located in India as part of a network of global mirrors for a social (educational) project. I am setting up similar mirrors in many countries.
