Hi All! I just wondered, how do you get all webpages in a website to be indexed by Google? And what does it mean if the pages aren't indexed?
Here is the best information on crawling and indexation that you will find anywhere: http://forums.seochat.com/google-optimization-7/google-crawling-and-indexation-101t-324216.html I hope this helps!
It is better to have all the pages well linked with each other... for google to easily go from one page to another using just an internal link! Regards, RightMan
Having an updated sitemap and a solid internal linking system in place, will make it easier for the search engine spiders to crawl and index your site.
Indexed means when your website is on the list of google. You have to buildlinks for your website to get indexed but most of the time even if you don't build links for it google will still crawl your website and then it get indexed. If you want to know if your website has been indexed just type the url of your website in the search engine if you found your website in the result then it has been indexed.
Finally, someone who knows what the heck he is talking about. Don't listen to all the bozo's that will tell you to spam external sites for backlinks, lol. Spend that time doing on-page SEO. That xml sitemap goes right along with the on-page SEO.
There are many different ways. I suggest you try out different methods and see what works for you. It's good if you can get 90% indexed. To get you started, try bookmarking and make us of RSS feeds.
