Indexing Questions. . . This is kinda weird.

Okay I have submitted my blog and it obviously has been picking my blog up.

Okay, when you do a search for www.gazotto.com you get nothing. However I just got a visitor from google searching Hotmail vs. Yahoo.

That post is indexed but my home page is not.

Mind you I have a 301 redirect pointed at www.gazotto.com/index.php.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=hotmail vs yahoo.

Is this normal? I've never seen Google index a page and not the home page.

Edit: I now realize something. My 301 is set up to that previous url (/index.php), my homepage has not been indexed.

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Gazotto&btnG=Search
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Gazotto.com&btnG=Search

Am I doing something wrong here?

I don't really get the problem. If I do a site:www.gazotto.com search, the /index.php page is perfectly indexed? Isn't that your homepage?

If you have redirect www.gazotto.com to /index.php, you don't want them both to be indexed do you?

Your home page has been indexed by google. Just search for your full url(including index.php). Since your using redirection, there must be some kindaa command in your .htaccess file so that search engines will index your full url(including index.php file) not just domain name. :)

Okay, but when I search another site that I have a 301 redirect to

    eg. theblognation.com there is a result . . .theblognation.com/forum.

Yet gazotto.com has no result. Is this because Google is a little bit slow with the 301 redirect?
