If a site has a link to a pdf file will the google bots index the content of the pdf or just the link to it?
All of the major search engines now index .pdf files. But its difficult to get non-HTML files like .pdf, .doc, .txt, or .xls to rank well because they don't have the same mark-up capabilities and rarely have more than one or two links pointing to them.
