The home page is now indexed. It was indexed sometime on the 25th. I placed a link to both the home page and the forum page on one of my sites. It'll probably take a week to get some more pages indexed.
I just started a new site two months ago. I haven't submitted it to any SE. I only mentioned it in one of the forum. Somehow Google followed the link and indexed my site. I have been monitoring the number of pages indexed. On average, it added 50 more pages every 4 to 5 days. Now it has indexed 1200 pages. I assume it will continue but we haven't seen any increment in the past week. Is this because of Sandbox effect?
Probably not. How many pages does your site have, and how well are your pages cross-linked to each other (the search engines won't find orphaned pages)?
add your site in your link signature on popular forum such as DP, it will help to SE indexed your site faster..
SE indexed my site faster than I expected. I haven't even finished all my pages yet. Get SE indexing the pages is not a big issue. Next step is to create BLs. How fast (# of BLs over a certain period of time) should we add BLs for a new site? Should I create Blog sites and build "Link Bait" now?
This is actually my first ever website in my entire life. And I am not a tech person. Only learned everything this month by reading articles in DP. I just want to know how long wil it take. Its a forum site and I created it last aug 18, Will it take months for the entire site to be indexed Google indexed only the frontpage of the site and the frontpage of the forum. I submitted a sitemap with 245 links will that do. Will it take a year?
Nah, not a year. Depends on how fast you can develop your backlinks. You should have a large number of pages indexed in a couple of weeks, if you site structure is ok, and there are no problems.
Wil, what's the URL for your Web site? (If you're not comfortable posting it here, you can feel free to PM it to me.) I've been running forums using SMF since 2005; I might be able to help out privately (for free, of course) if you like.
Submitting to G via sitemap.xml helps with indexing. If you provide quality content optimized with relevant keywords, you should rank well for your chosen niche or subject in no time.
