indexing/duplicate content problem

I have several addon domains in cpanel. The way it's set up is I have a primary domain. Within that domain are all my other sites.

The other sites are doing fine - except it appears that google is now indexing the sites "below" my primary domain, through my primary domain.

So basically I have www.site.com with search results. And I have www.primarysite.com/site with some of the same results.

I do not want this to happen.

So, how can I prevent indexing of content through the "primary url" but continue to have the content below it indexed on it's own url?

    Thanks!

You could put in a robots.txt to tell robots to ignore certain URLs.

Or you can also include robots meta tags in the HTML of the pages you don't want indexed.

Or you could make sure that primarysite.com/site contains links to site.com so that site.com ranks higher in Google.

But see, "site.com" is totally irrelevant as far as topic/content. It's just used as a technical portal, if you will.

I assume robots.txt would be the right way to go, but I don't want to mistakenly have them ignore site.com and primarysite.com/site.com. Any idea of what code I'd use?
