Hey guys, I'm pretty happy right now. 3 days ago I made a website with pretty competitive keywords and it has now been indexed and is on the first page for those keywords! Its currently 4th, but I'm hoping itll go up (like previous sites I've made have done). I havent done much in the way of promotion/marketting, but everything I have done has been free, and I will list it here: Digg.com - I submitted the website to digg. It didnt get many views, but it definitely helped google to see the website. StumbleUpon - I stumbled and reviewed my site. It got 88 visitors the next day, but I havent seen any traffic from SU since. I didnt do it for traffic, I did it to help google see the site. Directories - I couldnt find many free directories that didn't require a recipricol link exchange, but the few I did I submitted the website too. Sitemap - I submitted a sitemap to Google with webmaster tools. So, thats about it! I'll update this thread as my rankings change. Obviously I've built my whole website around the aforementioned keywords, so as long as you're sensible with your SEO, its not too hard to get indexed quicklya dn rank well! Hope this helps. I know you've probably heard all of the above before, but I just thought I'd share my results - it really does work.
Do you realize how useless this post is ? Your website is obviously not staying at that rank forever. Oh my god, why are you even posting ? You feel like being a top SEO expert ? Your website is just brand new man, just wait and don't post when your website will have "disappeared from google". Thanks
Maybe so, but I wouldnt say the post is useless. I was just happy about getting indexed so quickly for hardly any work; nowhere did I claim to be an expert. As I said, I'll update this thread as my ranking changes, so if it dissapears, everyone will know that I should of done more Learn some manners. Your post comes across as very arrogant.
I thought the post was interesting. I've been working on SEO and it is nice to get some ideas.... Congrats on the ranking and keep it up!
A couple of questions Quail. Can you check your keyword out at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and tell us the average monthly searches of your keyword.
it is always a good idea to proofread for spelling errors "competative" its nice to see that you are attempting to learn the process and steps of SEO
My point was : - the ranking you're talking about doesn't mean ANYTHING, your website is just fresh and new, that's why you're so "high ranked" - 3 days to be indexed isn't good or bad, that's quite average and well if you want to be indexed... http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl
Congratz, Quail, it's pretty common sense what you did and I am sure that if you will keep posting on your new website and continue building links (keep sending to directories ), you will do well. Good starts are much better than poor ones, right?
I think he did some important starting factors and has a pretty good base to continue forward with.....BTW what are the keywords that were targeted? If they were some longtail non-competitive phrases, that would be a major reason why he pulled rank so quick..... I wouldn't downplay success, but this by no means is the END ALL....a long consistent effort is still needed..... IMO
Im building more links as we speak The site moved down to 5th result earlier, but its now 2nd. I'd rather not reveal the keywords, but they're two individual words, with 33,000 searches per month as a phrase. The site's URL is this phrase.
