Indexed pages go away mysteriously?

    A few months ago I had about 16,800 indexed pages in google, now I only have 10,400. Is there an explanation for this?

    Yeah, same here. I had 8k indexed. I knew something was wrong because I don't have that many pages. Now it's around 3k, which is still a little high, but more in tune with where it should be.

    I have seen this many times on huge travel websites in the UK - I do not think this particularly matters as long as your site is being indexed by Google.

    Just continue to see what pages have been indexed. The rest will soon correct itself and is no big deal.
