Indexed pages dropping

    hey guys,

I got a question for you:

I have a website in which the only links he has it's my signature links over here. For some reason , google does not count these links at all. As a result , each day the site is losing more and more pages from google index. ( it dropped from 1100 to 250, and keep going down). The site does have a xml sitemap.

    1. why google does not count my signature links ( I know they are dofollow)?

    2. In case I get some other links to the website , do you think google will reindex all the pages again ? how long should it take to be reindexed?
or have I lost it for good and the pages will not be indexed again for good?

    Thanks.

Indexed pages can come back no problem. 3 tips:

    1) Make sure non of the content is duplicate (either on or offsite)

    2) Make sure your meta descriptions are different on each page (or left out)

    3) Build more links both to domain and internal pages to give them more importance

There are some restrictions and when your site is not updated then Google does not index some of your old pages. As Google also limited resources and it cannot keep junk for long time

I quickly checked just one of the sites in your sig and found lots of duplicate content. If the others are the same, that's the reason for the de-index. Unless the content is unique, the trend will continue regardless of backlinks.

Ignore that ^ It's total tripe. There is no "limit" on your indexed pages, some sites have millions of pages indexed. It's down to domain / site / page authority and link equity.

Just follow those 3 tips and you'll get indexed.

You're going to be much better off using Yahoo! Site Explorer to examine backlinks. Google Webmaster Tool only gives you a selection.

    Relax and hang in there.

Don't use google for links, use yahoo like the others said.
