Indexed Pages Constantly Moving UP and DOWN

    Does anyone know WHAT would make the Google spider CONSTANTLY shift up and down on how many pages it has indexed for a particular site? Our site goes from 2,500 indexed pages to 1,200 pages constantly. It seems like google cannot make up its mind on a daily basis how many pages to keep in its cache.

    Does anyone have similar problems and do you know why this is happening?

    Ow.. Yeah!! But it never goes up until you reoptimize..build more links and such like... Going down is much common :(
