    Hi,

I have a feeling this is a newbie question, but here goes...

I am thinking of buying a site from someone, there are about 100,000 pages indexed in Google (when I do "site:DOMAINNAME.com") .. it's a directory style site, and most pages say "Supplemental Result"

When I plop over to Shawn's tool that uses the Google API, I still about 100,000 "pages in URL", whether I add "DOMAINNAME.com" or "www.DOMAINNAME.com"..

I thought because Google was showing Supplemental Result that the API would show much less "pages in URL".

    What gives?

Also, a general question on Shawn's tool...should I track sites by using just DOMAINNAME.com or www.DOMAINNAME.com?

    Thanks for your help!

supplement result shows the normal results plus the supplement results i think...

what do you advertise? domain.com or www.domainname.com. I'd track both, but if you have to choose, choose the one you advertise. Google analytics can be set to track both.

I think there is code you can put in your .htaccess to redirect all to one or the other, i'm thinking of doing this

& god damn, seems every1 i talk to owns domainname.com
