Hi guys, we are launching a large content site and I wonder if there is any quota introduced by Google on amount of maximum daily pages to be indexed. I've red somewhere that Google doesn't like when too many pages of content are added simultaneously. Any idea? Is there a suggested maximum?
Sasha, I read an interview of Matt Cutts that was very clear: Google gives more importance to sites he trusts more (let us say higher PR - not only that - age, etc). Of course Google does not have capacity to store all the world in his database. (his words - he is always clear) You just started - some of your pages will be added to the database and grow by the time. That will get FASTER if it gets more popular - people naturally like your site and link to your content. Making SEO to your site makes it even faster - BUT as you are manipulating the system Google HATES it and could get you bad response in the future (suspensions, etc). Back to natural backlinking based on a long time you will get your space on the web. If you consider SEO, before starting analyse a good strategy don´t go too fast, you don´t want to hurt Google and be hurt. Consider showing your best content to sites where people you will know your existance and start reading and liking them (not SEO).
Well can you clarify how big is your website .Because what ever the rules are all you need to do is start the seo and gradually google will catch all the pages.
I agree with both of members above there is no problem and guarantee as well as google have its own algorithm to index pages.
