I've only just uploaded the article to my server 5 minutes ago, so give it 24-48 hours and we should see some results.

I think we have to do a change because the site you are using is a PR 3 and the martial arts site is a PR 4.

Lets prove this conclusively and place the page on the PR 7 site.

As soon as it is knocked out of the SERPS and yours is the only one ranking take down the link.

If mine stays in and yours is suplimental or yours ranks second behind my original page - well I'd appreciate the PR 7 link :) joke!

But you did say 48 hours and that I would like to see!

So really you are saying that you can force any page on the net suplimental within 48 hours due to your higher PR. I definitely think there is no chance.

    You also said

So if my original page does stay in, do you promise to go back and continue reading? :)

Why not you see it here all the time, people have a tutorial on their site that's indexed then post it here and 24-48 hours later DigitalPoint is beating them.

You really think for one second if you had an original article indexed on your site for 5 years and Wikipedia published it they would not beat you due to authority, then think again.

Well they should not beat me - thats for sure. But thats Googles issue and they had better fix it.

Also what you said was that my content would be dropped out of the index and made suplimental as a duplicate even though I was first to index and rank for it.

Now if that occurred, it is disastrous behavior of the Words biggest and most popular search engine .

Shame google shame - but lets do the experiment first.

I have more hope that Google is not that embarrassing.

Not so, I am able to accept him as correct in his opinion only.

I still think the experiment will prove it - lets just see the results first.

If I am right; well all is good in Google land!

If he is right god help any publisher because what is his is not so, in the eyes of the Google god.

If I am wrong may I suggest another more entertaining experiment.

    But credit http://www.omg-1.com please :)

Anyone with a PR 8 site please just scrape http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/

and lets see if google likes its content 'borrowed' by a citizen of the people :)

But in truth I think indexed first and links pointing from the duplicates to the original should work just fine, and google is great etc etc

Well links to the original helps as it gives more authority to the source document, but it guarantees nothing. Just like who had it indexed first means nothing, Google will chose the document with the most authority to display.

Here's some reading for you from the likes of SEOmoz and Google themselves. If you want another dozen articles from different leaders in search backing up what i'm saying just let me know.

    Definitely a good read.

But lets see what is actual in real life and do this experiment.

I'll place up a link to my original content and also your duplicate page with a link back to mine.

I'll paste some snippets off the page here and link them to Google, Yahoo and MSN Live and see who does what with this duplicate content.

My page is currently indexed in all engine and we can just prove it or not.

Publish original content on your site. This could be very detailed information you want to write about.

Distribute content that you could careless if it is duplicated, to ezine directories. This could be blah blah crap, fluff, or tutorials, etc that are basic enough for anyone to read and follow links.

    K.I.S.S.

    ;)

A good read indeed. This even defies common sense. It would be only natural to rank better, if you get indexed first and the high-pr copycat ripped your content afterwards.

I can't see the reward for writing unique, original content if anyone can outrank you with your own stolen article. I look forward to see the result of this experiment.

    Exactly - defies common sense.

The great thing about Constitutional Amendents and Freedom of the Press anyone is allowed to post the most blatent lie possible and try to spin it to fit their needs.

For instance I stop speeding trains with my bare hands and leap buildings in a single bound...

It will be interesting to watch for a while, but the little nudge inside the mind that says original content will always do better than postings in questionable value article marketing directories, will still hold true.

Well as soon as sweetfunny places up the page we will know very soon.

If he is right his PR 7 should knock out my PR 4 very fast.

If I'm right I hope he enjoys reading the rest of my site :)

Actually it does not really equal what most would consider an experiment being as it uses only one testing of the theory.

Another issue is Google algorithm is known to be a bit too link dependent in that new links can rank a page highly initially, however once full document scoring is applied and new links devalued these pages fall out of the SERPs.

So without allowing time for full document scoring by the search engine tested... it is not a very accurate experiment, nor is one implementation enough to provide any conclusive evidence.

It doesn't matter, simply having the second or duplicate page out do the original at all proves the date of index has nothing to do with it.

Actually it's not even much of an experiment, this is old news and the links above quote Google, SEOmoz, SearchengineGuide.com saying exactly the same thing i am. If you read any authority site on SEO they will all say the same thing as well.

I've shown this several times already, i should really make the terms that i keep the document so i don't have to bother doing it again and again.

Google deals with duplicate content on your own site the same way, ie Printer
Friendly versions Vs Regular Webpage. It will show the one "Google" deems most authorative if you don't specify one by blocking the other.

Come on think about it, do you think the first ever webpage that had the unique string of text indexed saying "Welcome to our Website" will always rank first because they had it indexed first? No.

    Next thing is keyword competiton.

Please move any of the top 5 results from their spots for the keyword terms

    computers

    or try

    seo

Again your working off link popularity and not allowing time for scoring otherwise you could move every page off the front page of Google which we all know cannot be done otherwise you would be on the beach in Bali and not here yacking with the general population. :)

Date of inception probably does not have an effect of enough proportion to cause a page to outrank a more authoritative page, but it can be, and is likely used by search engines to fight spam.

Think outside the known and not what your emotions lead you to believe.

What i am saying i have tested time and time again, so that makes 2 now who think what i am saying is wrong huh?

As for the term "SEO" well i'm not #1 but i'm inside the top #25 and beating the likes of SEOmoz.org, seroundtable.com, searchenginewatch.com and the list goes on.

I was just about page one, but my server keeps crashing but hey i've only been targetting the term for 3 months on a sub 12 month old domain so give me a bit.

I dont think you are wrong....just not always right let's say.

As for ranking on the front page for SEO

there is a reason many of us don't bother to try.....once you get there you'll find out why though..

As for your server crashing that is going to keep you from getting to the top 10...

Google cannot recommend a site it cannot find....

Sort of like people cannot recommend a business not built....
