I wrote a post today and it was indexed in 10 mins or so too that was incredible, never experienced this before. (for a test I wrote another post after 30-40 mins, and it was also indexed 10-15 min after post. )
Wow... this is coool.... mine fastest index was almost a hour.... but in 10 minutes then you are lucky or co-incidence
I use Live Journal for my personal blog and once I forgot to 'lock' an entry so the public could not see it. Once it was posted I noticed that it was missing the locked Icon, so I immediately edited the entry to make it locked. Three minutes tops! Needless to say a few days later while searching for something else I found that post in Google Cache. Never Underestimate the Power of the GoogleBot!

Congratulations for it--it signifies that the Big Daddy loves your site But the fact is not new-- in fact Matt Cutts discussed about the advanced Google indexing algo way back in August ( August7 -to be precise) on his post titled Minty Fresh Indexing
Got it in 10 mins again today I submitted Recipe Mod for vBulletin Forums at 3:59 and got "Recipe Mod for vBulletin Forums" at 4:10 so 10 mins and a few seconds ps.. the google cache says it's 11 mins old, it's 4:13 now crazy
Funny one of my posts did too... Luck http://www.techie365.com/gadgets/33-billion-mobile-phone-accounts-worldwide.html
Did it again... http://www.google.com/search?q=site...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Google loves my sites I guess...
I experienced the same thing last week - my main site has about 300 pages a day crawled by google, and the main index gets hit at least every 36 hours, BUT I stated a blog on a new domain the other day, wrote a post, and the following day I had a comment - and I never even listed it with google or any other SE! When I quizzed the poster he told me he had seen it on google blog search, so I guess the blog script autopings when its installed or activated. a bit naughty as I wanted to build up some content first, but there you go....
Funny you say that, just today, I seen some referrals from google blog search that I hadn't noticed in the past.
