My blog post got indexed on Google's search results almost instantly (see attachment). This was the post that I wrote - SEO For PDF Documents. Am I missing something here? FYI, I have the toolbar installed but am not signed-in.
Nope, blogs send out pings and things (ooo that rhymes) when you post a new message so google finds them quick. My blog post go to the to result for "lg veiwty" and veiwty and a few more half an hour after I posted it.
really?? i didn't know that blogs are indexed so quick! means i should get one btw my site got indexed on google within 3 days. And now its 1 month and 16 days old and almost 259 pages are indexed.
How come your a SEO Consultant yet you seem to be unaware of the advancements of Google's indexing speed, which has been progressing all year? Have a read here http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/minty-fresh-indexing/
Its just shear co-incidence that google picked up a link to your blog within 7 minutes of you posting, when you ping somewhere your link will be on the front page of the sites you are pinging for a short period and obviously if google is crawling that page you will get indexed. Blogs tend to be indexed so quickly because pages like technorati are crawled frequently because they update their content constantly.
how do we send out ping if we're not using blog, instead we create our site with frontpage, dreamweaver etc.....how to be as fast as blog...... anyidea?
For sure you are not missing on anything or so. You either just made the right post and optimized post and another thing, blogs send out pings quite so very fast. In my own experience, it actually just took me 3 minutes to get indexed. What's your pinging url anyway?
Must be the autoping process in blog .. My wordpress blog usually indexed in every 2 days but my html site took about 7 days for google to index.
The only site that it's set ot auto-ping is Technorati. Fyi, I'm running an older version of Wordpress on my own server and wasn't even logged in to my Google account. This only happened recently - probably with my last 3 or 5 posts. Can you guys see my post in the results if you search for "seo for pdf documents" (without quotes)? It shows on page 1 of the results for me (was page 2 a couple of hours ago). If yes, then I'm surprised at how fast it can propagate to all the data centers.
I would suggest then that you upgrade at once on your WP and being logged in to your Google account does nothing (no effect) when we speak of getting indexed by search engines in general.
I never dared to use it that way because it's ment for manual blog pinging but you might try: http://pingomatic.com/ ... ???
