I never had this happened to me before, so I am curious to get the opinions of some of the SEO experts here: I have made a site, properly optimized the title, meta as well as the body paragraphs to include my main keyword and LSIs. I proceeded to bookmark my site for a faster indexing and started to monitor my progress. My site got crawled and indexed within 24 hours. The problem however, is that my site does not rank for my main keyword anywhere in the top 10 pages. This is not a very competitive keyword. Is this usual? How long does it take to get ranked? Am I sandboxed? Any suggestions?
I would guess your sandboxed as the definition goes. I however don't like to group this stage into one 'sandbox' as all sites seem to be treated differently. I too have a site that I expected to rank but it simply isn't there yet, even the domain name matches the keyword exactly. Its a waiting game with google, all we can do is power on building links, content etc and wait it out until we please the google bot.
It could be for a variety of reasons other than just getting sandboxed. Could be that you need to create more backlinks to your site to boost PR and thus it's presence in SERPS
Doing bookmarking in order to build links isn't enough!.. You need to perform some of the strategies as well, to get to your desired ranking..
I had the same experience but got ranked after a month. The keyword phase they used to rank my site was based on the achor text, not the phase in the title.
It takes its own time to get ranked and find your site in the top ten even if the keyword you are targeting is not very competitive. In the meantime, refresh contents and build quality backlinks and stay patient.
Getting good serp is altogether different from getting indexed. You need to put in lot more hard work to get good serp, as getting indexed is just the first step in the long journey! Regards, RightMan
Its not as easy as ABC to get ranked on Google's first page. You need to take a lot of effort before you can make it.
Hi friend welcome to SEO World If you site is well optimized internally as well as externally doesnt mean that you are on top of google Also getting indexed by google only means that you will be appearing in search result by google, it doesnt by any means says that you will be in TOP 10 For top 10 race there can be millions of site and you have to be one out of them to be the winner And not only thats the case if you cannot be in the race then buy Google adwords wherein they will put in top 1 as paid sponsored listing . So its a BIG GAME , Welcome to SEO world
It sounds as though you're off to a good start. It's difficult to say why you aren't ranking without knowing a bit more about your site and your niche. At this point it's probably safe to say that a lot of the sites ranking ahead of you likely have at least two things going for them, age and authority. Quality backlinks are a great way to acquire authority. Keep growing your site if you can and start building quality backlinks!
I'm in the same situation and I'm just focusing on building links and content right now so that I will be ready for the dance...
