    hello,

I have a new site (3 weeks) and I am indexed by all of the major search engines and if i put my title in Quotes on the search engines i come up 1st or second on all of them. If i take my title out of quotes i do not show up on any SERPS for ANY search engine.

Is this an SEO issue or a sandbox/ have to waite issue?

    hey zibzer,

i'd say this is 'have to wait' issue. after getting indexed it takes some time to actually appear in useful serps. you should notice results in msn first, then google and lastly yahoo. my own site is doing great in msn and just starting to do well in google now.

in the meantime, the best strategy is to keep on getting high quality backlinks for your site....

    good luck,

    thomas

yeah usually seems to take 4-6 weeks in my experience to start getting higher in serps (cept msn where its usually about 2.4 days!)

Just getting an idea on searches on overture i'd be inclined to use 'Bass Fishing Home Page' and 'Bass Fishing Tips' as you have as main keywords. These would need to double checked on wordtracker or keyword discovery etc.

    I would suggest:

    (1) Pushing 'Bass Fishing' to the start of your title. Maybe

'Base Fishing Home Page | Tips'

Could be improved with more knowledge of bass fishing which i'm afraid i don't have.

    (2) Update your copyright message to include same as title.

    (3) Change 'Your One Stop Bass Fishing Resource' to include the keywords at the start and make it a h1 header. This is very important. Style it as you like using CSS.

When i've changed the title, the copyright and included a h1 header on my page, msn has always picked it up after.

Other things to think about on the page are your internal navigation structure. Your internal links are effectively backlinks you control - use them to optimise for your keywords.

And obviously you need a few 'bass fishing' backlinks as well - not sure what they are at the moment.

    good luck!
