Its been about two weeks since I launched a recent website and I still haven't had any luck getting indexed on any search engines. I am new to SEO but have got the hang of things so my site is pretty nicely optimized. I also have 50+ quality backlinks to the site already from free directories or buddy websites, many of them are PR3. How long do you suspect it will be until I see some crawling action? thanks
Actually it looks like MSN is first to the punch. It has crawled my website quite nicely. Now I just need g and y to follow!!!
One link here and you are automatically #1 for all your MSN keywords. That is a bit of a stretch... but just a bit.
Did you submit a site map to google sitemaps? Seems to work everytime https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/docs/en/faq.html
I keep reading about the Google Sandbox. Is it still there? If so, how long until they give you a chance at real search results?
Probably you are, if you have just laucnh it. It takes me three months to be in the G! search results after the launching.. The good thing to do is to build yours links for now
It takes a little more than just a forum signature link to land #1 in MSN. Signature links will help get you indexed and that is a good place to start.
Any reputable search engine ONLY needs 1 backlink to follow and index your site. If you have not been indexed yet then it's just a question of time. If you say you already have 50 backlinks or so from PR3 pages or so, then it's near impossible that either G!, Y! or MSN have not crawled you yet. Check your logs! Getting into their database will follow soon. Patience!
My advise it get a link in DMOZ or pay for a link in Yahoo or MSN Small Business directories and you will get indexed soon after. But the best way to get a new site indexed in with a simple link in your forum signature like mine.
