Index problem, covered everything I can think off. Am I missing a problem?

    Hi,

I am trying to get this food smoking site indexed, I have covered all of the basics with regards proper .htaccess file manipulation to avoid canonical problems. The site along with a proper sitemap has been submitted to google. A proper robots.txt files has been uploaded to the top tree directory. Obviously proper tagging and meta descriptions have been added but this is irrelevant untill the site has been indexed. I have done my best to check for any problems that would breach the google guidelines and as far as I can tell there is none. The site is built upon the wordpress database.

I have waited several weeks for an index, every other site I have tried to search engine optimise had been indexed far far quicker. I assume I just have to wait longer however I thought I would post here to see if anyone else can see something I may have missed. Alternatively if anyone has any extra suggestions to help speed up the process I will be more than grateful to hear them.

    Thanks in advance.

    that's odd...Maybe it's because your robot.txt file.

test your robot.txt files using robots.txt analysis tool available in Google Webmaster Tools, just to make sure you didn't accidentally block Googlebot crawler..

i try to check your site further to see where is the problem..

Reivand, Thanks for your reply. There is nothing wrong with the robots.txt file and it has been successfully downloaded by googlebot without any errors or any form of blocking. I fear there is a less obvious problem here?

    Okay then...try this:

*how about those CMS (wordpress) option that block all search engine from crawling the site, maybe you forgot to unchecked this option as the CMS adds a nofollow meta tag to pages so that the search engine will not be able to crawl the site.

*check your SEO plugins, make sure they are setup properly as some of them have a default option checked for avoiding duplicate content and such...

    * Use Lynx browsers (http://lynx.isc.org/) to examine your site as most search engine see your site much like Lynx would. If those things like Flash, DHTML, Cookies, JavaScript, Frames, and such keep you from seeing all of your site in a text browser. Then YES the search engines is having some problems crawling your site.

*if all the above fails (but you are really sure that you are not violating some Google Guidelines right?..) then you can Request reconsideration of your site through Google Webmaster Central site and wait until your site get indexed.

(i will try to check your site again)..
