index.php parameters

www.example.com/index.php
and
www.examples.com
bring me to the same page

But I whenever there's a parameter like
www.example.com/234
I want it to be forwared to
www.example.com/post?id=234

Can I retrieve that parameter in my index.php page without doing this
www.example.com/index.php/234

you can do this in the htaccess file. with mod_rewrite enabled

 

Make .htaccess file:

RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^([^.]+)$ /post?id=$1

I added that in my .htaccess and it's still not forwarding.
I'm testing it on my localhost.

 

Try it on a Linux server, and ensure the mod_rewrite httpd element is enabled.
