Google shows about .46% (not 46%, .46%) of my pages when I do site:example.com

However when I use a keyword with the site command in google, like this (site:example.com texas) I receive almost 4 to 5 times as many pages as when I just do site:example.com. Why does google not include these other pages when I do not use the keyword? Other keywords produce similar results.

do you have a lot of pages in supplemental index for duplicate content/duplicate meta tags?

I don't have any pages with duplicate content, or any pages with duplicate meta tags. I even redirect any link of domain.com to www.domain.com so that there is no duplicate content issues with the domain name.
