Hello all, Well, my site GrandFiles.com doesn't seem to have any PR when viewed normally: http://www.grandfiles.com/ However, add the "index.html" and it has a PR of 3 http://www.grandfiles.com/index.html Is this normal? I know that PageRank isn't everything, and having PR won't necessarily get you more traffic, my site almost getting no visitors from Google and none form any other search engines. Maybe I just need more links...
Use 301 redirect to the page you want your PR to be concentrated. PR is base in the count of inbound links per page. The http://www.grandfiles.com/ & http://www.grandfiles.com/index.html are assumed by google as different pages
After last update many sites have same problem. My directory has homepage PR1 and inner pages have PR2.
This is not a problem its perfectly normal, that just means you have more links that lead to your index.htmll then the main domain. PR is fluid it can be achieved on anything like a domain, a page or even a folder on your forum and not be anywhere else.
I think that means there is some thing wrong with Google . I have zero links to my inner pages (PR2), except the link from homepage (PR1).
Yep you sure do enjoy it and get more backlinks on it to make it stable Be sure to add meta keywords on your domain as well.
