I know my way around InDesign (Pagemaker) enough to fill in text and add photos, etc. but, I need some help with creative. When contacting an freelance, what should I be asking for - a template, theme, or other? My project is a catalog of electronic parts, so most of the content would be tables. Just need help with the creative part as well as headers and footers. TIA Mark
in your case you'll need an catalog template with ready made master A / B pages , that you'll have same footer and header in both left and right pages. also you'll need cover and back for your catalog... Also in Indd CS3 you can use table style (in cs2 there's paid plugins for this job) , you can ask the designer to prepare tables with style for you it will be very helpful
I suggest you to contact a web design company, it may be lil bit more expensive for you than a freelance worker. But from a proper web design company you chances of satisfication will be higher than a freelance worker.
Thankyou Theivo! That will help me get started. It will take some time to get ideas for the front and back cover. Regards, Mark
