I know this has been asked, and given info about hundread's of times. I have gone through many threads but have found the same simplistic answers - not that there's anything wrong with that, just past that stage long ago. Here is a question ive been pondering. You have established sites, 1-2 years old indexed, optimized, generate revenue. But you are stuck at a constant number of visitors. How can you increase?
It's not as simple as increasing traffic. Your capacity may be reached , no more users may want to use your service . It's situation specific I'm afraid. Give us more details.
Im pretty sure the capacity is not reached, no where near reached. one is sports fansite the other is a soup recepie resource site.. Both are solild built sites, domains about 2 years old now.
If you have a budget you can always try some advertising for it. With a good advertising programm you can revive your sites. If you would like to buy some advertising from me dont hesitate to pm.
At that stage, I would focus on getting more return visitors but making your users spread the word. E.g. using forums.
1. Deeper linking and more site content. 2. Add features that will encourage 'stickyness' and a reason for your visitors to return.
Freebies!!! People love Freebies. And get it higher ranked in google, that should always be a goal, unless of course then you are #1 for your keyword already. Write some articles and submit them to article directories, but have those articles target a really specific keyword and have a page on your site dedicated to that keyword. Make it a goal to get #1 for that very specific keyword, even if it is for the search with " ". Make goals like that, attain them, and slowly you will get more targeted traffic
Improve your marketing...market market market...especially if you have an established domain, it will make your success that much easier.
Only thing you really can do: whatever you're doing to market your site, double or triple your efforts. Since I do a lot of marketing, I'd crank out more and more articles than normal. Also perhaps target some new keywords for SEO?
i dont mean to be rude but if you want to boost yoour traffic then veiw this click here you dont have to click it, but this is the way to gain more traffic with proof
Ditto. I follow the one year rule. You work hard on a site for one year and it will get traffic, period!
A can't imagine there being any traffic limit for a sports fansite. I think others are right and a little advertising in teh right places could go a long ways. Noone has really captured the sports forum market yet imo.
I'd say come up with more ideas. Say you are selling camera's and you have "reached your limit", come up with a new idea... such as selling more rare camera's, or selling camera supplies along with camera's, etc. There is no way you can say you reached the limit, because there are millions of people who haven't bought from you (meaning people in general, not you). Good luck.
