Hey all, I recently bought a few "keyword" domains. One of the ones I have been working on is www.workathomecompanies.net. The keyword is obviously "work at home companies". Anyway, to make a long story short, shouldn't I be ranking in the high ranks for that keyword, since the domain IS that keyword? I've got my meta tags with that keyword in them and other keywords, but I fail to see my site rank well for that keyword. I've done directory submissions, article writing, etc., yet I see zero results. Any suggestions?
No, not necessarily, theres many factors that contribute to high search engine rankings, having a relevent domain is very important in my opinion but if a competitor site has many more links, more optimized on page SEO and is an older site with great content it will beat you bloody.
It should not be that difficult to rank for that phrase as indeed the domain name is good. Instead of focussing on too many things, better just focus on getting few really good links. It shud do the job.
It's been online now for around 5 months. I've been link building consistently for the past two months.
