One of my adgroups contains all trademarked terms and their variations. The two largest keywords (most impressions) are inactive and say I must bid higher, because of my poor Quality Score. I have already optimized my landing page, but how else can I increase my QS? My keyword lists are tight and focused. I think my problem is that none of my 4 ads for that group contain the trademarked keywords, because Google doesn't allow this. Should I get out of this niche, or do you guys have any tips? Thanks!
Welcome to AdWords and TMs. I feel your pain. Is there any way you can get permission to use to TM from the owner? Have you tried combining the words? For example, if the TM is "Coca Cola" have you tried "CocaCola"? Do a search for other TMs and see how creative people are (They get pretty creative).
Thank you. Out of the other 4 ads that are running, only 1 has the keyword in it. I dont know how they do it... but it looks like this. (Using your Coca-Cola example.) Coca Cola5 Get your Coca Cola5 here! Limited time offer. In Adwords, I tried adding a number after the keyword like they did, but to no avail. AdWords refuses to let me. How do they manage to do it? If they had written premission, I'm sure they would just use Coca Cola. Anyone have any ideas? I tried DKI, but of course, AdWords won't let the trademarked text showup. Darn.
Likely that's the issue (cianuro). Why don't you try to target other keywords rather than those? Are there any other long-tail keywords you could use?
Use DKI (dynamic keyword insertion) Ex: your keyword - coca cola, buy coca cola, where can I find coca cola your ad title - {KeyWord:Coca Colaa} When someone search for your keyword - coca cola Your ad title will show - Coca Cola When someone search for your keyword - buy coca cola Your ad title will show - Buy Coca Cola When someone search for your keyword - where can I find coca cola Your ad title will show - Coca Colaa If your keyword is too long (>25 characters) Your ad title will show default word (words after ":") - Coca Colaa
Don't try to get around the trademark restriction by adding numbers, foreign characters, dashes, etc... I've seen advertiser accounts get banned & domains blacklisted (for good) due to multiple trademark violations.
