Increasing my blog's revenue?

So I've been blogging for a few months and my site has grown mildly popular. My question is, how do I profit from it's popularity? I've got AdSense installed, but I've barely made 50$ in the last four months.

Should I switch to another banner advertiser, or focus on simply getting more unique content in? I'm trying to increase revenue without alienating my readers.

Sell products of interest to your readers. Add a donate button.

You can make certain links pay you. There is a site that pays you for allowing them to show an intermission, pop up, or top-banner ad.

They also offer a little script that allows you to automatically convert all the links on a given page to paying links.

It's basically a URL shortener (if you use the script, it is dynamic, so all your links will appear normal) that throws an advertisement into the redirect.

So, while you might not want the script on your front page, you may like it's performance on pages that get a good amount of hits but don't monetize very well. Here is an example link that will open (or be blocked, they still pay for blocked) a pop up, and then redirect you to the front page of the site.

The code to add the links is just copy and paste:

    http://www.realfiles.net/link/e9cbce81

Clicking that example link will open a pop up (or be blocked, again, that still converts for you) and take you to the front page. They offer many different choices in URL's to choose from, and I have not had a problem with them. I use them on all the pages that just never convert. Good luck! Easy way to add an extra 30-40 dollars a month to your site if it has the steam that it seems like it does.

Remember: Content is king. Yes, it's a cheesy niche, but it makes sense. If you update the blog regularly then you'll get more visitors. Also, spend some more on advertising. Buy links on other people's blogs and generally sites related to yours, but the SEO side of things is very important. The higher you are in Google, the more traffic you're likely to get.

Also, if your traffic is getting higher then you can sell banners and links from your site here on DP. How much you earn really depends on your traffic etc. In terms of Adsense, trying putting the ads in priority positions.

To be honest if your blog is popular at all you should be making even more than $50 a month with adsense. I would do a combination of adsense text ads, donate buttons, and also write reviews. Depending on your traffic you can get paid $25 to $5,000 to review a product or website.

    I'd

    1. dump the adsense and add affiliate links instead - go check out clickbank, commissionjunction, paydotcom, etc. for affiliate products related to your website content and start making bigger checks with that traffic...

put the affiliate links to 1-3 products where the adsense was...

    2. ...and as loco.m says - add some review blog posts of those affiliates
    3. and selling banners/advertising space as above suggested - then you have some great revenue ideas!

    Cheers, m
