I've a page of a site that normally gets around 300 hits per day - almost all the traffic comes from Google Image Search. My Adsense CTR was low at about 2%. I made a really simple change to increase the CTR, which is now over 10%. Wish I had thought of it before - all I did chane the <H1> tag to something really catchy (Filthy secrets of ****) - it really grabbed the users attention. I find Image search traffic rarely clicks on any ads. They come for the image ,and that's it. Very often, the page doesn't even fully load - they'll just click on the "see full size image" bar at the top of the page they're lead to by google. You've about 1 or 2 seconds to really grab their attention - and an intruiging headline - the first thing a user will see - seems a great way to do it. If you've other tips on increasing CTR from traffic that comes via image search, share them please.....
interesting trick... thanks for sharing that, i will be sure to think of cleaver names for my images from now on
It's funny. I receive traffic from Google Image Search to a page with no image. Is some kind of problem with Image Search. Anyone with a similar experience?
I'm not talking about the names for the images though - optimize these purely for SEO & traffic purposes. What I'm saying is change your pages <h1> tag - ie. the page heading, to something catchy, once you've already got the visitor to your site....
You can always break out of the Google image search frame. Take a look at www.narutowallpaper.biz/Gaara/Gaara/ source to see the code, the javascript in the head of the document.
