I guess giving example websites with last 1/3 months Page RPM may help publishers. I am not sure if this violates any adsense policy.
My website jobsearching.in has Page RPM of almost 10$+ where as manufan.net has Page RPM of 0.07$ Any idea how I can improve this?
Id like to mention that ad placement is important but niche / market should be considered long before it due to how vital it is for getting clicks. It is the audience that decides and an audience that has no intention to click ads is one to steer clear of if you depend on adsense revenues. Thanks for reminding us that placement is just another factor we need to consider for getting the most out of our adsense efforts.
Good advice. I think when considering placements, people tend to forget that the traffic they send to advertisers should have the highest conversion possible. Otherwise, the account gets into trouble for silly things like "financial risk to advertisers" and may even get banned. So having good placement is good, but the niche and the intention behind the placement matters too. For example, placing ads in places to get accidental clicks is unwise because this puts the account at risk of getting banned. Placing ads on pages that you KNOW buyers visit will be the right thing to do. E.g. review pages, product directories, discount coupons pages, etc.
I find this too, I have one about filing cabinets, that gets VERY high CTR, all natural. Whereas One with information about teeth only gets 3% CTR. If you read the quote below, it will answer your question. Thank you for your advice. But, yes the audience has the final decision wheather to click on ads, but putting them in front of their faces helps them see the catchy titles!
I completely agree. But dont you think Page RPM of 0.07$ is too too low? I think I should try some CPM ad placements for this site instead of adsense.
