    Ad Placements

What is an ad placement? An ad placement is effectively the position of ad blocks on your site or WebPages. Different areas of your blog will have an impact on how effective your ad placements are, and how likely your ads will be clicked onto.

The best way to find the best ad placements for your blog is to experiment with different positioning. I find that placing ad blocks out of site of the top page of my blog works more effectively than having someone land on a page and all they see is ads before content. After all they come to your blog to read the content not to click on ads on first impression. I also place most of my ads on the left hand side amalgamating them with my content as apposed to being in the right hand sidebar. But each to their own and this may not work for everyone.

Below is an illustration showing various positions on a webpage where placing ads will be most impactful on your Adsense earnings. adpl.jpg

I think thousands of publishers have already proven that this WORKS. No need to really reiterate it again. The Orange and Orange-red areas are prime spots for the best results.

Here is something else interesting I found for lists of links:

It shows that people look at the bottom of links first before they actually read the links. So this will be useful when deciding an order of affiliate links or anything like that.

(Also if you have seen this image before... Please refrain from spamming my thread.)

How noble of you to point out. I for one had not seen it before today. And I changed my link layout because of this.

No wonder you have 9,800 posts, seems like 9,700 of them are spam.

Well i for one will say thank you for sharing this as i am new to the game and i have not seen this before. So this information is now changing the way my new website is coming along. Is there anyway i can find more information on where viewers click on other then this and by any chance some tips on blending the advertisement so it looks like it is part of the page.

Blending the ads this looks like a part of the content is not allow according to Adsense Policy Guidelines.

Best place are 3 for me
    1-Top Leader Board
    2-On top of post content
    3-Left Side Bar

those 3 positions are the exact positions I use. And they work PERFECT. I am always surprised to see people not using this to their advantage

Same like me, I don't like to put adsense in bottom/footer... Advertisers make a low bid for this position...

That's really good position for placing Ads on website. And almost the people think the ads above the content is always the best Ads place.
