Getting traffic is not the problem, but keeping your website getting traffic is the real problem.
Once I where in some Google lecture, they advised a lot about writing articles that is relevant to the blog you get ok to publish your article in, and then simply link back in the content to some very relevant pages in your website.
This increases the value of your page and give you more than just traffic.

Submitting URL are really not needed for your website now. Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines have url submission but it is really not needed. You can it you want but you might as well as focus on creating links with other websites so your site gets crawled in that manner. Either way your website will be crawled pretty easily if you put minmal effort in link building to your website.

 

You could find blogs similar to your niche, and leave comments on them, ensure that the comments adds value, or else they might be removed by the admin

 

You need "targeted" traffic in order to get conversions ($$$).

4) passive free ads

They are powerful methods and free traffic for your website...
