Hey everyone, Just a quick guide that I stick by when making any website using google adsense. 1. When writing a small article put the adsense above the content. 2. When writing a large article put the adsense in the middle of the content. 3. The best performing text ad that gives me back the most is 300x250. 4. Always make the border and background colours match your website colour and blend in. 5. Place your ads above the fold and have a 300x250 box. 6. Change the url colour to the lightest you can get. 7. Blend adlinks with other horizontal links on your site to make it look like further links within your website. 8. Put keywords in header tags <h1> <h2> etc. 9. Use keywords in title html. 10. Use filters to block low paying advertisers to get maximum payments. 11. Use sitemaps and your website gets crawled faster by google. 12. Provide good quality relevant content on your pages. 13. Setup channels for your ads so you know which ones are performing. In some cases its best to have very little links on your website so that the only links are your adsense ads which sometimes improves click through. Hope you enjoyed, Yours, Laura_D
Hello expiringdomains, I hope that it helps, I am trying to contribute as much as I can in order to help out others. Yours, Laura_D
Great tips, thanks. Can you please explain tip 10 a bit more; how to filter low paying advertisers? Very much interested in that...
Hello patron123, You can filter ads by going to google competive ad filter. Now you need to know which ads are low paying in some cases you can tell with the poor ad copy, there is a list that I will try and get you that I use myself to filter out. Once you have the url you simply paste it in, from memory I think that google allows you to filter upto 200 websites.
Good tips Laura! This is some basic tips, and most important IT WORKS. It's very good that you have put this in one thread... Thanks for sharing. Regards, Ivan
Most of these things are said many times over, they're like common sense now. But there's a reason you have to keep repeating them, most people just don't have common sense Thanks for the list, I'm trying a few things myself.
Hey everyone, Thanks for the great comments on the thread, although I see alot of posts here saying that its all basic and common sense this is were many people fail. Many newbies and other adsense users dont seem to grasp the basics which is why I put up this easy to follow list, good luck all adsense users. Yours, Laura_D
