The popularity of social networking site, twitter is increasing day by day. Through twitter you can provide a link within your 140 characters status. This feature opens a new window in online marketing.
Bloggers may get a lot of traffic from twitter. It would be the biggest after search engines. You can use tools like twitterfeed to automatic update your status after writing new blogs. You can also select random tweets send to twitter from your blog after a regular interval. If you are planning to earn with adsense twitter may be useful tool for you.
But to attract peoples to your tweets you have to post quality contents on your status. If You want to get good response from your followers, you should post at least three good tweets before one advertisement of your blog.

Yups, Twitter is one of the best place to market our sites. I am using it and get more direct traffic via that. However, I am not sure that we can get valuable backlinks via twitter as we get from digg.com

 

It all depends on your followers. If you followers are just some automated twitter accounts that don't bother about out tweets anymore. Also, mass number of follow and unfollow to increase followers can get our tweets banned from twitter search tool. Twitter is a powerful tool if we can manage to get very responsive followers. Currently, I'm getting 100+ unique visitors a day from twitter.

 

I used twitter a little in the past for this purpose, but I think that traffic from twitter don't have a good conversion rate yet like traffic from search engines. Maybe in the future...

 

what is the best way to generate more followers - I see some people (non celebs) with 15,000 followers and I have to wonder how they did. With that sphere of influence, I can see how it would be a powerful marketing/referral tool.

When ever a way to promote our stuff, most of us are using that gently. But some people misuses it and make the entire system against our needs. I know one person/bot who is tweeting every one minutes with some useless stuffs. At last I unfollowed him.

 

Twitter users are not good for conversion into sales. Twitter users are good for branding ur products, if you plan to increase awareness of ur products, characteristics of ur products then twitter traffic is good, otherwise its a waste of time. And if you plan to make money from some advertising networks then it works well.

 

That is a good idea, I do it a few weeks ago.
It all depends on your followers, and there are so many people submit their AD or info, too much info lead to almost people have no way to take care of your info, but i think this idea is a good opportunity, all we need is find a good way to use it.

Twitter is only useful for generating traffic & not for sales, everyone on twitter is interested in followers & not much in tweets. You can still get lots of knowledgable stuff on twitter..........

 

Nice idea..! I thing we have to use Twitter carefully. And also everything depends upon your followers. I suggest you to use Twitter not only for getting traffic. Twit some interesting post, get many followers and then use twitter for getting Traffic.
