I think without increasing the traffic of ur website it can't make profit to u becoz . people are not aware from ur website.So i think there is the best solution to increase traffic to ur website u should use SEO for ur site which will be really helpful to u.That's what i think about it.
If your site is SQL info related then most probably you are technical expert. People ask basic to expert level questions in different programming, DB, development related forums. You can give there solutions along with your links in signatures as well as where ever reference is required to your site. This should increase your credibility and so your site's. As for increasing sales, then again if its Software/Db related products you are selling then you are already communicating and referring "Potential people" that may become your customers. For getting rank in search engine you need to have Link back as if you get back links google will give more weight on your site. As every incoming link has weight in it. So your site will be placed above others which will attract traffic. Moreover content is the key. Update your site daily add some new content and just see how your site scores in search enginee and gives you decent traffic.
