    digilover, can you give me an example of why its important other
    than selling a site to someone who takes alexa rank at face value
    and doesnt ask to see real traffic stats ... i mean its the easiest thing
    on the internet to fake

    I see you have based your site on About.com template. To be honest, I have always found their site a bit confusing. There is too much information on their site with little structure and the design and colours too crammed. One of the resons why they are popular is the sheer volume of content. I have found a lot more better sites than About.com. The best sites are often the more simple ones i.e with a lot of whitespace and simple colours. Not only are you using the template, I hope you are not borrowing some of their content.

    ... My alexa ranks always go from nothing to the mid 700,000 range within a month. If people like your content, usually its no problem creating good ranks. From what I hear though, alexa ranks are easily faked, so dont get into it too much.
