The number of visitors should show up in your website somehow. They should click the links that will lead them to your website or they have to put your website's address into their browser address bar. So you can try to think yourself where and how the 300000 links should be placed to ensure the potential visitors will click them or what should be done to make people put your website's address into their browser address bar. Moreover, you should be interested to have the visitors come back to your site again and again. So there's just one guaranteed way achieve this. The way is offer people either unique service or to place unique and attractive content onto your website.

I think you guys are too hard on the person who created this thread. He asked an honest question (probably a bit too ambitious). Well, I always get that from my clients.

They always say: "I will do this, this and this on the site. Then you go make thousands of people visit this site." They talk it like so easy, and when I try to explain to them, they gave me the dagger, "Well, it's your expertise, so you go figure out."

    Damn.

Back to the topic. The easiest way to get INSTANT visitors is Pay-per-click advertising, which is spending on each visitors and burn the money in your pocket.

The better way to get 300,000 visitors a day is probably:

    1. Develop a content site that everyone wants to read, and re-read, and recommend to their friends. Message get spreads out really fast with all the social networking site nowadays.

    2. Provide a value to the visitors that NO OTHER SITE can provide. Example, craiglist, the fish dating site (forgot the name), my space. Unique, and value, play a big part here.

    3. SPAM A LOT, and hope that you can get away with it.

    Good luck :D

    I agree with link guy

You want to get that 300 000 a day easily, so that people are coming to it on their own. Of course if you were markus from plentyoffish.com, or you had a big site like that, you would want to make it so they actually clicked on your adsense, and not just ignored it.

I guess it's important if you want 300 000 unique or repeat?

I never click on ads in my hotmail, myspace, or anything account, only when I'm looking for a product or service.

So basically WHO CARES about 300 000 hits, how about how much MONEY? What do you want? Why do you want just hits? What would be easier 300 000 hits 1% CTR or 50 000 hits and 10% CTR???

    :)

There are two ways you can go about it really.

If you simply just want 300k people stumbling accross your website, then spam, popups - all the annoying stuff is the answer.

However, if you actually want 300k people coming to your website, looking for what you have to offer - buzz is the answer. There's no simple list of steps to follow to create buzz, or 300,000 visitors a day for that matter. If there was, we would all be millionaires and the method would probably by now be useless. Buzz really does just consist of an original, attention-grabbing idea.

I agree with ManInBlack too. Hits shouldn't always be your priority. It would be a lot easier and cheaper (and save you a hell of a load of bandwidth) to just maximize your CTR or conversation rate.

pick the most visited keywords like car insurance.
and you need to rank no. 1 in all top search engine.

Add different Languages especially in China (Its a big market there,..that's why Google is trying hard to ...)

    Emailing list.

    Ummm.. what else!!!
adwords...!!! (but it will cost you a lot ,..for sure)

its really a hard target ...anyway..Goodluck

you should aim more for sales not for traffic. It is better if you have 100 visitators and 100 sales then if you have 300.000 visits and no sale

Thats very true, the 300.000 would be mighty impressive traffic but you definately want them to convert once their at your site, you want them to perform what your getting them there for otherwise that kind of traffic could start getting expensive with not much else to show from it.

I can definately say now that i really wish you suceed with this, as people have been pointing out thats its not impossible, its just that you need a plan that is well thought out and that its maybe better to execute this in stages, maybe aim for 50,000 at first then when you reach that target go for double etc etc

Step by step i think most could do it, its just going to be a long term project for most.

    Good luck.

I can acquire visitors via Google for about 25 cents each. I hear that MSN can be 10 cents, depending. But I'm not even sure MSN has a large enough marketshare that they could push 300,000 visitors to any site in a single day. Nonetheless, if you assume their rates, then 300,000 visitors/day costs $30,000/day, or $900,000/month.

Of course, if it were me, for that kind of money, I'd rather just put "only" $400,000 into online ads, put another $100,000 toward a Marketing department, and leave it at a cool half-million burn rate per month. I would hope that the Marketing department would be worth their cost, by attracting more people for less than the cost of online ads. They'd need to do a blitzkrieg of promotions, press releases, interviews, and so on to get & sustain such a high level of penetration.

An alternative approach would be to try for a newsy site, and invest that $100,000 into content producers. If you did that, you may not need so much advertising, because news sites get a lot of repeat visitors, and the content they generate is sweet sweet honey to search engines. So some of the 300,000 daily visitors would be repeat users that required no acquisition cost. Eventually, you'd be able to sustain 300,000 visitors without such a huge outlay.

Of course, I don't think anyone has discussed the costs of handling the traffic that 300,000 visitors/day generates. At that size, you're up in the Digg and Slashdot territory. You will require server farms and mutiple fat pipes for the bandwidth. The hardware is a one-time cost, so maybe we ignore that for now. But the humans required to set that up and maintain it are going to have to factor into the monthly expenses. I've heard that Digg manages with a staff of just 20 or so, and that's for everything. I'd assume the IT team is maybe only 3 to 5 people. Still, that's roughly $50,000/month extra to consider.

In summary, I guess I'd set the first year's expenses at something like $10,000,000. That counts advertising, employees, servers, office space, and a bit of overhead for unmentioned stuff. For the first 3 months, I probably wouldn't assume I'd hit the target of 300,000 visitors. If I absolutely had to hit 300,000 for all 12 months, I'd probably increase the yearly expenses to $12,000,000. That's US dollars.

Good luck freeuploadedfiles! Let us know how it goes.

Well as regards your last comment aboyd, you can always outsource the server's to other companies so you can focus on your content area.

It's actually quite easy to get lots of visitors to your website. Everybody enjoys gossip and scandals, so go and spread something nasty or naughty about your site. Who knows, you may even get some paying customers!

Spend $10425 on 1500 expire domains at the rate of $6.95 per domain, with link popularity, and make sure those domains you buy have such traffic, like 200 visitors a day. Redirect all of them to your domain = And you will get 300.000 visitors a day. :)

Lol. just kidding. dont know if such works. But it sure did for ultsearch.
He bought 100.000 domains, and had 17000000 visitors a month.

Even if you did this, looking up 1500 expired domains would take long time, lots of effort, money, and the domains would probably generate lesser and lesser visitors with time.

But just a thought anyway. :)

    regards
    DL

I am happy with my very small traffic for now as I've discovered I get better at web site stuff every day and as such get more repeat traffic and for me that's better than 300k who will never come back.I used to go to spike traffic but decided it's more stressful to me and I'd rather do it the hard way.
    Slow but sure.

I agree with tonyrich, sustaining the traffic, instead of roller coaster climbs and drops is better for the long term, much like tonyrich im learning more each day and seeing gradual increases each day.
