Increase in Storage space - How to tell? WHM

I have recently had a vast increase on one of my servers. It has increased from about 60gb to 120gb overnight. HOWEVER; WHM shows only about 40-50gb allocated to accounts.

How do I find out where the extra data is stored and remove it or question the account holder? And why does WHM not reflect the true amount of datda stored in its account list?

Please help quickly. I might have to start moving accounts if this server fills up :(

I had a similar problem, and found out that the cpanel backups I had restore were also saved in /home/cprestore so I had all account in double, the live version in each seperate accounts and the backup as said.

Not sure It would be you case.

Login as root and use the "du" command to find what dirs are using the space. You will have to use attribute on your du command to limited the depth of the search.

Thank you this was very helpful I have had a look and am looking at removing some accounts that are live but not paid for... When you have a few they slip through the net! Ouch!
