Increase CTR! What you should really know...

You probably know the basics by now...

    AdSense Colors:
    Link Title color: #0000ff
    Description: #000000
    URL: #000000

(Match the colors above with your actual site colors. For example: If you're
using a blue site link color, make sure you use blue link color for your adsense
ads) PS: Blue links over white background works the best with AdSense!

    AdSense Layout:
336x280 Text Advertisement under post titles works the best!
Remember, put all of your ads in the content area!

    Example of a bad placement:
160x600 wide skyscraper in the sidebar... Even pros make this mistake... The
reason it's a mistake... People don't come to your site to look at your sidebar.
As this may work for those of you with an extremely low bounce rate, for
the majority of us, people just come to our site for one page and leave. So,
you need to put the ads where they'll be seen in that single visit; In the
    content area!

Picture of my favorite layout! (You'll notice not a single advertisement
is in the sidebar...) Also note: I am using blogger... If it allowed me to, I would
put an ad right in the middle of the post, but I cannot...

OOPS - Link unit on the bottom is supposed to be 728x15

    Finally... The best trick yet:
Display relevant ads! Go through all of your pages and make sure that
your adsense ads match the post title of what your page is about.

For example: If one is looking for Madden 2010 Football FREE, then label
the title of your post, Madden 2010 Football FREE. Then, type your content
related to that post, and hopefully, AdSense will bring up relevant ads.

    Relevant Ads are EVERYTHING!
One of my site's CTR's is so high right now, simply because of what people
are looking for on my site relates EXACTLY to the advertisement.

    The layout ABOVE
Even if your ads aren't necessarily relevant, you can still get a pretty good
CTR in the 2-5% range. If your ads are relevant, you'll probably be looking
at 5-10% and sometimes even 15% CTR with the above layout.

PS: Remember to put the word "advertisements" above your two 336x280 ads
which display under the post title. Otherwise, you'll be breaking the "misleading titles above ads" rule...

    I created the theme myself.

It's pretty basic. What you want to do with AdSense is keep it simple. It's
    really all common sense.

    You want to display
    !Relevant advertisements
    !Blended in with the content
!And placed where people will click

    Sidebar disagreement
More often than not, people will come straight to your site to look at your
main content area. Your main-wrapper... Which displays in the middle of your
    page.

When they first visit, they'll be more likely to click an ad which display under
    your post title.

People are lazy, when they're done reading they'd be more likely to click
an advertisement placed at the bottom of your post, then they would the
    sidebar.

Of course, maybe your homepage is ranking for some short-tail keywords.
But even in that case, you'd still be better off with an ad on your homepage
displaying in the middle of your page, over your sidebar.

Unless your sidebar plays a major role in your site, it's better to simply keep
    ads in the content area.
