You should analyze the niche you are using for adsense targeting! because during a year or so Adsense lowered down several niche's i guess you may should a kind of similar niche if you have genuine content for website

Although you may not increase the price of keywords which you have been using!

Just do what sumanhaldar told you. Find the best payed adwords related to what are you posting. This is very important. Also, place the ad between content, this will make more people click on ads.

 

You have to test different keywords, typically in high competition niches
