    Hello,

Every day the web hosting forum in BST is full of topics which violate the guidelines, loads of threads which should be in freebies, loads of threads with people offering their own services in threads instead of PMing, topics which should be in other forums (such as negative reviews).

The guidelines are enforced in a very hit/miss style, great inconsistency. Ones which I do report, some get dealt with, some don't.

    Should be in Freebies -

    ----

That is just from the first page of the forum, loads more if you go onto extra pages.

It would be great if some greater attention could be payed to this forum or a re-structuring, lax the guidelines up or actually enforce them to a good degree and don't treat different people different ways.

Sorry if I'm seeming to whine a bit but this is where I spend my time on DP, sometimes go into other forums for a browse too.

    Thanks,
    Sam.

I do so but its very laxly enforced or ignored, some threads will be dealt with when its clear they are against the guidelines, some mods treat them differently than others.

When nearly every thread in the forum is against the guidelines it becomes de-moralising for me to report them all, and pointless. If you are reporting every other thread it becomes pointless, you start to think "Why am I reporting it if they don't give two fucks about it in the first place?"

Count the number of mods online at any time and count the mumber of members. We can not offer a man on man defiense and have to rely on the help of members to try to keep DP clean.

No things aren't "laxly" enforced or ignored. Personally, I go in there once or twice a day on weekdays cleaning up the first page, and I move or get rid of dozens of things that don't belong there. And I know other mods have been in there recently too. It's better than it was a few weeks back, with one of the biggest problems right now being the freebies garbage posted there - and they'll eventually learn when they get repeated infractions. As Shannon said, there aren't enough mods to devote a huge amount of time to every area. Web hosting already gets far more attention than most other areas.
