    Anything which is on a web is considered website but since the early days of web we have come long way from static---->dynamic involving e commerce ------> subsequent blogs----> social networking sites etc. I just merely gave you a nice difference between both. Otherwise everything mentioned above is considered website - but it is too easy to say and explain and doesn't provide any meaning to users who asked question initially.

    You could have answered this question in much better way with more than 4000 posts under your belt.
