I wouldn't say the traffic is "great" on this site, but it does get several hundred visitors a day. Since it's a resource site and it's source of traffic is people looking for free information (information that should be free and is free elsewhere - recipes, craft ideas, etc), I've been using Adsense as it's main source of income. I'd like to get away from this since it's just not paying enough. Several hundred visitors is worth far more than a few dollars. I did try some affiliate products to compliment the page, but nothing is selling. Visitors aren't there to buy, they are there for information. Unfortunately, my site is "too good" for them to buy anything else (and I know that sounds kinda bad). My question here - is there something else I can use to make money off this site? I feel it's somewhat wasted on just Adsense. Any recommendations?
Did you try rotating between AdSense, YPN, eBay feeds, Google search, CPA deals? What about leasing your email list? If you really have a niche site and have been requiring users to register before they post, you would have built a sizable email list by now which you can rent (not sell the names, simply allow an outside marketer to email your members without you ever revealing the email addresses) Another option is you up-selling services, or starting to collect membership fees for a higher level member (Example - free basic can read only, or can post once every 30 days. Paid members no limits)
I have the same problem just like you, I have a niche site which have 1k visitors a day but only have few dollars of income from google adsense. if you are interested plz pm me at msn maybe we would work out a way for each other. www.top10s.net
For one of my websites Amazon gave 10-15$ eCPM in December. It was before Christmas so I assume it will be 2x less in normal month, but it is something. For some niches Amazon ads might work quite good.
